ELISA Coating Buffer is a sterile-filtered 1x carbonate/bicarbonate buffer designed for coating ELISA microplates with antibodies or antigens. During the plate coating step, the buffer provides salt and pH conditions that support adsorption of proteins to the microplate surface while helping maintain protein solubility and conformational integrity.
Key features
- Sterile-filtered 1x carbonate/bicarbonate coating buffer
- Designed for ELISA microplate coating workflows
- Supports immobilization of antibodies or antigens onto microplate surfaces
- Helps maintain protein solubility and conformational integrity during coating
- Preservative-free formulation
- Available in 50 ml, 100 ml and 250 ml sizes
Applications
- ELISA plate coating
- Antibody immobilization on high-bind microplates
- Antigen immobilization on ELISA plate surfaces
- Research-use immunoassay development workflows
Use in ELISA workflows
Dilute the antibody or antigen into the coating buffer at an empirically optimized coating concentration. Mix the solution and add 50–200 µl to each well of the microplate, preferably using a high-bind polystyrene microtiter plate. Incubate the coating solution for 8–24 hours at room temperature protected from light, while minimizing evaporation with an adhesive plate sealer.
After coating, aspirate the coating solution, wash the wells 2–3 times with 1x ELISA Wash Buffer, and continue with the blocking step using an appropriate ELISA blocking or stabilizing solution.
